ElusiveShell design - Vonnie
I was born and raised on a farm in southern Minnesota. Youngest of 7 children, I learned the value of working hard at an early age. I loved to draw as a child and do crafts with my mom. After graduating from a class of 42, I headed to the big city where I was on my way to an Associates Degree in Graphic Design. I attended Minneapolis College of Art and Design. After returning to the rural scene I attended South Central Technical College. I was employed by Taylor Corporation (ie: Carlson Craft, Navitor, National Recognition Products) for 26 years doing graphic design and typesetting. After going on a cruise and returning to Florida where it was 75 degrees and it was negative 30 back in Minnesota, I decided I'd had enough. My husband and I moved to Florida in 2014 and have enjoyed the warmth ever since. I was employed for 3 years by a local print company and did free-lance design on the side. Between my job and my free-lance I was putting in 18+ hour days. I decided to launch ElusiveShell Design full time, and on December 12, 2017, I officially became my own boss!
I am blessed to be a mom to two amazing daughters. I also have 1 step-daughter and 2 step-sons, one daughter-in-law and one son-in-law. All the kids still live in Minnesota so I don't get to see them as much as I'd like. I'm thankful for cell phones, texts and web cams!
When I'm not sitting at my computer doing design, you can find me gardening, reading or fixing/painting/changing something in our home. My husband and I enjoy day trips to find the nearest winery, distillery or craft beer hub. We enjoy going to the beach and on nature walks where I take photographs of animals and plants.
